I don’t know why these redirect occur. I’ve looked at the code but I not finding anyway to make the first link without a slash.

You misunderstand, I want to keep the trailing slash, your plugin removes it, but only from the first page of results.

My first page URL already has a trailing slash, your plugin removes the trailing slash from the end of the URL and so I have to then redirect back to the correct URL with the trailing slash.

There is an option in the Settings which I can see has been added after somebody else had the same problem as me.
“Add trailing slash: Adds a trailing slash to the end of pagination links.”
This doesn’t seem to do anything.

I’ve tested the plugin again. When the ‘Adds a trailing slash to the end of pagination links’ option is checked, every link has a trailing slash. When it is unchecked, no trailing slash appears in the links. My test site is running WP 5.5.1 and WP-Paginate 2.1.2.
