I know that if I want to move a site from one domain to another and maintain Google rankings I need to edit the htaccess file to include a 301 redirect. However if a blog is currently using wordpress.com ([domain].wordpress.com) the admin doesn’t have access to the htacess file.
What is an alternate solution? The site i am being tasked to move needs to maintain the rankings but also needs to go to a private hosting company.
