Hello. I am trying to redirect the Tag pages of my site (rlalique.com/blog).

the normal 301 redirect will not work on my Tags for some reason.

Does anyone know how to 301 redirect Tags using htaccess? The following is what I used for the .htaccess file in the root of the site, and which does not work!:

    Redirect 301 /blog/?tag=rene-lalique-news http://www.rlalique.com/blog/?tag=r-lalique-rene-lalique-news

I also tried quotes around the source page. I also tried above and below the canonical redirects in the htaccess file that redirect www to root, and also index.php to root.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try installing the redirect plugin. You may find it easier to use
    than .htaccess

Hi. Thanks for that heads up. I checked it out and it says that you need 2.7 version of WordPress. If that is true, I cannot use it. I did not know much when I started, and I hacked directly the blog software pretty good to get my blog running, which will require a lot of edits to get it going in 2.7, so I cannot upgrade now. If it will work with 2.5.1, then it is a perfect solution though. If anyone has any info on this, please let me know. Thanks again

    Hi
If you go to the plugin homepage
    http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/redirection/

you can download an earlier version which will work with 2.5

Stvwlf, great advice. Did it today, and it works flawlessly (version 2.0).

    Thanks for the help,

    Greg
