• Hi,

since some time (maybe since WP 4.6?) Super Cache and wpTouch don’t work together anymore.

Whith the same (on your website remonnended) settings the WpTouch site isn’t delivered anymore so it seems like the mobile device exlusion doesn’t work anymore.

Sometimes the mobile version is beeing cached but the site is delivered with broken css why ever.

As soon as I disbale Super Cache everythign is fine.

Will there be a fix or do I have to change to W3 Cache?

    Thanks!

  • I’m having a nightmare time trying to get my mobile version of site working with WP Super Cache. Was about ready to try wpTouch, glad to see this so I don’t waste my time.

I have two site versions, consisting of two entirely separate themes. One mobile, one desktop. For my situation, it seems like it could be so simple. Just have WP Super Cache create two separate caches, one for each theme, and deliver according to user agent. Why not?

You are correct. I have been investigating this issue and have found several similar reports. None of the threads offer a solution.

My findings are that wp super cache will produce the mobile cache file but will not deliver it once the desktop cache file is generated. Hopefully we can get someone on the plugin development team to start looking at this bug.

I’ve given up on all WordPress cache plugins for my high traffic website, I can’t find any that 1.) allow easy tagging of dynamic page sections to disable caching of those sections. 2.)Accommodate entirely separate themes for desktop and mobile.

I’m finding that optimizing my website for speed, along with using an ad server, browser caching, and gzip, is giving me good enough speed for probably 99% of my readers.

After literally days of working with WordPress cache plugins, my conclusion is that they’re not worth the time.
