og tags not showing up?

    Hi There,

    So i am having a problem when adding social share buttons to my posts in that the image i have specified in yoast isn’t the image that is showing when i share to facebook. It looks like it is just picking up one of the logo images on the site.

    I have enabled the open graph meta data in the yoast dashboard as well as in the actual social sharing plugin “social pug” but when i share it doest seem to pick up any of the tags like image, title etc.

    I have run the url through the facebook debug and it just says i need to define all the og tags but when i look at the source code of my page it is all there as follows:

    I have tried everything to my knowledge but cannot seem to get this to work. The site is currently in maintenance mode but i have taken it out and retested with no luck

    Probably issue with the sharing button plugin you’re using.
    Try something else, or just sharing the direct URL on your FB timeline to see if it works.

    Also view your page source to see WHAT info is being appended to any of the share buttons, as that can often be the culprit.

    Also remember images need to be photographic, not ad banners for best results, and above a certain size like 400px for best results.

    The example you provided isn’t loading. Instead I see a ‘Coming Soon’ page and the page serves a ‘503: Page temporarily unavailable.’ This is likely causing your sharing to not work as expected.

    Once you have removed the ‘Coming Soon’ feature, please try again.

    so i have tried 3 different sharing button plugins and have had the same result. When i just share the link it does the exact same thing so i believe it might be something else. The image i have specified in yoast is the required size for facebook so also don’t think its that.

    @amboutwe,

    So this was my first thought to so i took the ste out of coming soon mode and retired from a completely new browser. It still wasn’t working unfortunately. Could it be that the site would have to be out of coming soon mode for a couple hours before this could work?

    Do you guys have any other suggestions perhaps?

    If your site is cached, it can take time for the ‘Coming Soon’ functionality to be removed from the front end. Clearing your site cache as well as your browser’s cache will ensure you are looking at a fresh copy of the page.
