    Hi David,

I have a site that contains more than 1,000 photos and I’m noticing long loading times of about 10 seconds when viewing the photos page: /wp-admin/upload.php?page=mla-menu. Also when using the pager to see the next page of results the loading times are the same.

Originally I was hosting the “wp-content/uploads” directory on Amazon S3 which I understood later is slow so I moved to local storage but the loading speeds didn’t change much.

Is there anything I can do to speed this page up?

    Thanks,
    Nimi

Thanks for your question. To give you a complete answer I will need more information, but the first thing to check are your “where-used” reporting options. Unless you need the information this MLA feature can slow things down.

Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant General tab and scroll down to the “Where-used database access tuning”. Set all of the dropdown controls in that section to “disabled”, then scroll to the bottom of the screen and click “Save Changes” to record your new settings.

If you changed your settings, did the performance improve? If all of the where-used options were already disabled or if performance does not improve, let me know and I will gather more information about your site.

I will leave this topic unresolved until I hear back from you. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.

Disabling the “where used” settings solved the issue. Thank you so much!

Thanks for your update with the good news. The where-used reporting is great when you need it but it takes a lot of database activity to prepare. I changed the default settings a few versions back, but they wouldn’t apply if you had made other setting changes before the switch.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions about the where-used reporting.
