Hi Michael,
I deeply apologize for such stupid request. I’m not developer nor web specialist and I don’t use this platform to ask for some help very often. However, in this case I really don’t know what to do so I add now some more detailed info, if you want/can help me I’ll very appreciate it, if not, I can understand it.
My site URL is http://monodrama.sk/
This is a screenshot of correctly set image and description (of course I’ve read manual/help topics, especially the one telling the content for description when homepage is shared on FB is from tagline):
http://monodrama.sk/wp-content/uploads/scrnsht_plugin.png
This is a screenshot from homepage edit, button Preview:
http://monodrama.sk/wp-content/uploads/scrnsht_homepage_edit.png
Different text comes from this page (the very bottom right item):
http://monodrama.sk/program/
FB sharing debugger shows the same text/description as it is on homepage preview (not tagline):
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/?q=http://monodrama.sk/
Thank you for your time and effort.
M.
Hi thurzz,
So looking at the source I can see you have multiple instances of the same open graph tags. Just view the source and search for og: and you’ll see.
This means that Facebook’s scraper could be picking up the set of tags you don’t want it to.
So the the actual problem you have is that you’ve got duplicate open graph tags being output on the page. This means either your theme does it by default, in which case you don’t need a plugin, or you’ve got two plugins doing the same thing.
You’ll need to work out exactly what the case is yourself (try disabling plugins or switching themes as a process of elimination), as that’s something I can’t help with.
Good luck!
