[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGen Gallery – Slideshow Image Resizing

In NextGen OPTIONS | Slideshow there is an option to adjust the image size. One of those options is FIT. This option appears to actually stretch the images so that they fit the width of the window being displayed in thus distorting PORTRAIT images that should in actuality be VERTICALLY stretched to the top and bottom.

Is this by design, or is there a way to adjust the image size proportionately to allow a LANDSCAPE image to stretch HORIZONTALLY and PORTRAIT images to be stretched VERTICALLY, both maintaining aspect ratio.

With out this option we will have to custom size every image that we want to have displayed in the slideshow, and then set the option to NONE, on the resize witch is A LOT OF NEEDLESS WORK. Thanks for any suggestions.
