Support » Theme: Total » 30,000 downloads, but only 3 reviews?

  • Hmmm, that probably should’ve told me something.

I spent many frustrated hours trying to find a theme that would work for me, downloading too many that either didn’t have all the features shown in the demo in the free version (and that wasn’t clear going in), or had poor to nonexistent documentation.

I finally found Total which had everything I wanted and more. I was thrilled and by that time was willing to buy a premium theme so gladly shelled out the $59. DAYS after installing it, I’m no closer to being able to add content and actually use the darned site than the day I bought it. And needless to say, I’m more frustrated than ever.

I don’t know if the documentation for Total is considered “good” or not, but it’s out of date so you’re looking for items that aren’t in the theme anymore without info on workarounds or alternative approaches. Not only that, you have to go all over the place because aside from the core (out of date) docs, bits and pieces are elsewhere. Go here for the main documentation, go there for documentation on Slider Revolution, go somewhere else to put in a support ticket (and that was VERY hidden information but when I finally stumbled across it I learned for the first time my license is only good on one website, for one year). And when I did go there for Slider Revolution documentation, the information provided was only useful for people with considerable more technical expertise than I have.

And let’s go ahead and talk about Slide Revolution which is bundled with Total. I finally got my website paramaters tweaked so it would work with Slide Revolution, but I still can’t get my Home Page to show up as the static home page. I’m thoroughly fed up. Not only that, but you can’t even access even free slider templates without having Slider Revolution activated which you don’t need to do if it came bundled, only if you want the latest version or access to their otherwise free templates. Puchasing Revolution Slider is $19 on Code Canyon, so bundling it is just a bit of a come on or demo version.

I have a number of domains I’d planned to use Total on. I’ve spent so much time — DAYS — already trying to learn it I don’t know whether to try to continue with it or not. And now that I’ve found out it would be another $59 for each new installation — why should I? As I’ve looked at a few other themes today, I can’t imagine Total offers much if anything you can’t find elsewhere.

I probably can’t get my money back, but I’m going to try. And for sure any new theme I get will NOT be ThemeForest themes or purchased through Envato.

Our Total theme does not have any Pro Version. It is coincident that the theme with same name “Total” is available in the Themeforest for a premium charge and it seems that you are having trouble with that pro version which does not have any link with our Free Theme.

So i think you would consider your review after knowing it.

The response from Hash Themes is correct. At one point I needed to email Hash Themes and ended up on Themeforest. It took me a moment to realize I was not looking at the same options.
