  • hey folks
i was wondering if the filter-function as it works with categories could be enhanced by further filtering. example: clicking on a category of an event displayed as list on http://www.chole.ch/kalender the view will be reduced to events within the specific category. based on this view i would like to be able to filter by the summary or location field in a 2nd and 3rd step. any ideas how to approach this?
    any help appreciated.
    daniel

    Hi,
Using Ics files ? No, it only expects ‘category’ to be used as a taxonomy. Clicking on summary would normally go the detail of the event if there was a url provided. Clicking on location could go to a map link.

If one were using events as wp custom post types then it might be possible to have multiple taxonomies, and maybe do something like:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-multiple-taxonomies/, except If i understand you, you want to continually ‘drilldown’ within the list of events. In that case the taxonomy links would have to be modified to include the current drilldown and the url query handler be able to cope with the complex url query parameters.
This would be a change from normal wp behaviour with posts (ie inconsistent with normal theme post taxonomy handling), but certainly worth considering.

I’ll add to the feature list for consideration, but it won’t be soon I’m afraid.
