I have 3 wordpress sites powered with buddypress and MU enable.
It’ is possible to all the 3 sites share the same users. For example:
One user register at site 1, it’s possible to be automatically registered at site 2 and 3? Maybe sharing the same database?
Technically they are all ‘members’ of the other sites, as soon as they post to them. But…
Automatically add new users to each site in your WordPress network
Let users signup per blog
I contact the developer of the multisite-user-management, but my question is outside the scope the MSUM plugin.
He send me to this particularly article:
I have to do:
$table_prefix = 'blogb_';
define('CUSTOM_USER_TABLE', 'wp_users'); define('CUSTOM_USER_META_TABLE', 'wp_usermeta');
but there is something i don’t understand:
The 2 blogs share the the same database tables, or only the tables describe above?
What are the cons of two blogs sharing the database?
Do you want to have three totally separate blogs, each with it’s own separate BuddyPress install, or do you want ONE BuddyPress install with three blogs?
I want three totally separate blogs, each with it’s own separate BuddyPress install.
Sorry if i don’t explain well. My native language is Portuguese 😉 !
Then yes, you can use Justin’s directions. It SHOULD work fine with 3 blogs. The databases only share the users and usersmeta tables, not the whole database.
As for the cons, Justin talks about ’em best 🙂
But what about the wordpress mu enable? each buddypress site offer the ability to users create their blog’s in my network. Could happen incompatibility in this process?
MultiSite is something else. If you’re talking about running multiple MULTISITES with the same user base, to the best of my knowledge, you can’t do that with separate BuddyPress installs. You could ask on BuddyPress.org.
