• I have a set of three interlinked sites using multi-site. Each runs on a different subdomain e.g. main.example.org, sub1.example.org, and sub2.example.org.

I would like to have everybody from Author up on any site able to use 2FA.

However, an Author e.g. on “sub1” is per default only Contributor on “main”.
Consequently, 2FA status for that user is “Not Allowed”. Both, on “main” as well as on “sub1”.

So, even if that user logs into “main” (s)he should use 2FA because there is not re-authentication when moving over to “sub1”.

What is the suggested solution for this? Shall I just enable 2FA for all? (especially as the free version of the plugin allows enforcement only for admins anyways)

    TIA
    Chris.

Update: I have enabled 2FA for Super Admin, Admin, Editor, Author, Contributor but for some users it still shows “Not Allowed” although they are on at least one site “Editor”.

On “Network Administration” I can only assign “Super Admin” to users.

Only thing in common is that those users with 2FA “Not Allowed” are “Editor” only on one of the three sites – those with “Inactive” are on at least two and even with the same role.
