• When I updated WordPress to 4.5.3 the video background execution was questionable; sometimes it would load as soon as you went to the site. Other times the page would have to be refreshed. I had hoped that an update of either WP or theme would address this sometimey video display, but to my disappointment after updating to WP 4.6 and updating the theme to 1.8.5There is NO video background showing in ANY browser. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

  • Hi

I’m using the Onetone theme for this page: http://iioiifilm.com/

Recently I’ve had almost all modifications that I’ve done to the theme disappeared. I’m the only one with a login to the WordPress, and I certainly didn’t change anything. The only thing that I know has happened is that WordPress did an autoupdate on the 17th of august.

Some modifications are still there, like the name of the site etc. But everything in Appearance >> Onetone Options, where you basically create the site, has vanished. I took a look at the database and couldn’t find the missing data (I assume that this data is written in the DB). I could be mistaken though.

Anyone else had this? Any clue what’s the problem?

    regards
    Frímann

I recently updated to onetone 1.8.6 and to WP 4.6. I now experience severe problems in showing the Youtube background video. The behaviour is unpredictable. In one of my websites the video stops after less than a second in Chrome, but runs fine in IE. In the other website the video does not show at all. Not in Chrome and not in IE. Sometimes emptying the cache in the webbrowser makes the video show once.
Changing ‘start time’ in Youtube Video Background Options has impact, but rather unpredictable. I tried values like -1, 0.01, 0.5.
Changing to another video also showed now effect.
As an experiment I downgraded to onetone 1.8.5 but that did not help. Downgrading to WP 4.5.3 might help but that’s a lot more work. I did not try that.
The only real option I have now is to stop using the video background until this is solved.
Does this problem look familiar? Is there a solution? Thanks.
