These guys have created a very useful plugin that helps you see what’s going on inside of your website from a security perspective.

I was running this plugin on an older website and discovered that someone was using the SYSTEM to upload the php files into the site. I emailed the developers and they quickly got back to me with some very helpful instructions for solving the problem.
