OK, if you have problems, ask here in a new topic and I will see, that I can help.
Thanks Frank! I still see the problem. It worked well for hiding items from one menu on the right hand side of the front-end admin bar.
The +New and the Dashboard items are all active, in spite the settings attempted.
Here are the settings ▬
- The Admin Bar Back End options are all deactivated, except for administrator.
- Admin Bar Front End options are all cleared even after trying to deactivate nearly all of them.
- Back End Options are
- User Info: User&Logout
- Change User Info (redirect-to): default
- Timestamp: Activated
- Everything else, default as well.
- Practically none of the other options below this part have ‘stuck’ after this. Only two rows, re media and forums remained checked.
- Rest all cleared, when I tried check and update them.
I was using this on Firefox yesterday. WordPress version 4.3.1
Now I tried it on Chrome and Explorer as well, setting admin bar front end options. Update returns them all cleared.
Thanks for your prompt response, I get back to those machines Monday, just letting you know so you don’t ruin your weekend answering in a hurry.
Thanks again, for this so useful plugin. I hope I can figure what I am not setting right, or if it is something else that can be fixed.
…
Following up before I have to step away until Monday. Thanks for your time.
After reading older forum notes, cleared the database via the plug-in, deactivated, uninstalled, and installed again.
Version used, Adminimize 1.10.6
Tried Admin Bar Front-end Options
Settings
- Nothing deactivated for Administrator
- Everything deactivated for other users except Howdy, and Log Out
- Pressed update, after browser returns, all checkboxes are clear, nothing is set.
So none of the options for the Front end Admin Bar are set.
Turns out that the Front-end right hand menu was minimized only because of the Back-end options menu. If I leave that to default, the menu still shows.
As short hint, howdy and logout have different parent items, so that you check this. It is not easy to understand the structure of this items.
Vielen Dank Herr Bueltge
It’s the admin bar front-end options that come back clear, no matter how I set them. For now, I solved the problem by hiding the admin bar from non-admin users and coding in the few things that I needed them to see.
By the way, I did use Adminimize to hide the entire admin bar.
Cheers to your work on this very useful plug-in!
