Sounds like you might need to clear your cache after making these changes. What is your friend trying to do with the CSS?
If you can post his CSS, as well as the page where he’s trying to change things, I’ll take a look and see if anything needs to be changed.
thanks,
Kevin
Hey ireneswart,
You just need to go to appearance > theme options > shop settings.
There you can turn off the theme resize (which defaults to square).

Hello Kadence Themes,
Thanks for your answer. I was not able to find “Theme Resize”
I did find:
Category Image Aspect Ratio
This sets how you want your category images to be cropped.
But this didn’t change anything.
I can’t find any button specifically saying: “Theme resize” that I can turn off.
Irene
Kevin,
Also thanks for your answer. I have no idea what my friend did in CSS. I’d like to keep working in the Dashboard now and don’t touch the CSS anymore because it’s too confusing….haha
I would like to find a more simple solution, like switching things on/off somewhere in the dashboard..!!!
Irene
Sorry your specifically looking for the “Product Image Sizes” section. And you can turn off “
Enable Product Image Crop on Catalog pages”
Kadence Themes
Thanks,
I already had all those things switched off before making any changes. But I feel like the problem is not the theme but Woocommerce.. I think they have some specific size for the images on the shop page I can’t change.
Hi ireneswart,
Do you mind posting a link to your site?
Hannah
In your woocommerce > settings > products > display you can change the sizes. And once you do change you have to regenerate your thumbnails for those changes to take effect.
If that isn’t working check all your plguins and make sure you don’t have a plugin editing this.

I have the same problem. I am changing image size in woocomerce settings, saving it, but then the previous size pops back?
johnychuu,
Have you cleared your cache? Can you post a link?
Hannah
Hello hannah,
I can’t post a link because my page is under construction.
Recently I discovered that product images that shows on my home page are blurry so I found out how to fix it. (https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/using-the-appropriate-product-image-dimensions/)
Unfortunately this tutorial don’t work for my homepage.
Here is the problem:
My store images donβt appear to be the same size after I defined size in Woo Commerce > Settings > Products (defined size don’t save). After reading woocommerce tutorial I discovered that my theme might affecting the sizing of images. I am Using Crazy Diamond Child theme.
woocommerce says that:
“If your store images donβt appear to be the same size you defined in Woo Commerce > Settings > Products, then itβs likely your theme is affecting the sizing of images. You need to add custom CSS to your theme to override this.”
So suppose I need to add custom CSS to my theme to override this. Unfortunately I don’t know nothing from CSS π
About cache – where can I clear my cache? Can clearing my cache make some other issues?
Thank you!
Johny,
I also don’t know how to clear cache so we are on the same level π
I think by now I tried every “solution” that’s on the internet, and I managed to change the size of the images on the page if you click on an image. But on the main shop page, they’re still the same…. really not possible to change!! The theme keeps overriding the size and I have no idea how to change this in CSS π Even my friend who knows CSS worked on it for 4 hours and could not do it.
Ireneswart,
I think this could be common problem for many users. Maybe someone know how to deal with this?? :((
Are you using a plugin to regenerate your thumbnails after you change the image size? This is necessary for proper functionality.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Try this. be sure to read the full documentation for the plugin so you know how to properly implement it into your site.
Let me know if this works for you.
@kevin
Yes I already tried that in the very beginning. Does not make any difference.
