Can the Shortcode Filter Categories?

Hi guys,
Is there a way to display only my chosen categories as opposed to all available ones? I think it’d be very useful.

For example, let’s say i have many categories, but i only want to show the “cats, dogs, and mice” categories on a certain page. It would ideally look like:

[businessdirectory-cats, dogs, mice]

In a more realistic scenario, someone could create two pages called “Paid guest blogs” and “Non-paying guest blogs” — each one with many categories (Health blogs, Fitness blogs, Nature blogs, etc).

So naturally, the above shortcode would filter/separate the paying categories versus the non-paying ones.

Essentially, this would be like having multiple directories on my site.
