My client likes your theme but wants to have no sidebar on some of the pages. What do I need to do to make this possible?

Also, I am confused about the home page banner. I have used your theme before, but the banner is one solid block, not two separate ones side-by-side. If she decides she would rather have the single large one, what do I need to change?

    Thank you

I can’t show you the url yet because the site is still under development.

I have experimented with modifying page.php and with trying to create a custom template to achieve a page option free of sidebars. So far the only result is a page without a sidebar but with the space formerly occupied by the sidebar displaying as if it has a huge right-margin. I would really appreciate it if someone would get me pointed in the right direction for this. Thanks

the theme seems to have that option already:

have you tried to use the page template: ‘Full-width Page Template’ for some of the pages?

I found a solution to the sidebar issue. Using the Display Widgets plugin I hid the contents of the Home page widgets. Then I switched the target pages to the Home page template. Thus, no special template or coding was required.

I would still like to know more about the banner on the Home page and the single or double options with the two banner widgets.

@michael, thank you for the reply. The full width template includes sidebars, while the home page template does not.

    Hi,

I’m getting a little confused as to what you’re referring to. Typically the ‘sidebar’ refers to the right-hand (or left-hand) column that runs down the side of the page next to the main content. On my demo site, you can see the sidebar running down the right-hand side of the page on the blog. It’s the column that contains all the widget content.

As Miachel mentioned above, the Full-width Page Template doesn’t have any sidebars.

In your other messages you seem to be referring to the banner at the top of the page. i.e. The grey bar that runs full-wdith under the logo/menu.

The Front Page Template allows you to addd one or two widgets into this banner. The other templates simply display grey bar across the page.
