Multisite one media library

    I have a church site that I am building each ministry needs its own sub-domain so it will look like this:
    mainsite.com
    mainsite.com/subsite1
    mainsite.com/subsite2
    mainsite.com/subsite3

    But all sites need to share the same media library so they can use the audio, pictures and pdf’s how can I set the multisite up to only read and upload to the main sites media library?

    I haven’t tried this plugin myself but it looks like the Network Shared Media plugin does what you need. You can read about it here.

    I’ve tried it but it doesn’t work very well. It only works when importing to posts sidebar or other areas of the site. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

    Well i’m closing this post because I never could find the answer and the plugin mentioned in the post sometimes works and then sometimes it doesn’t.

    To bad, we were looking for the same thing. But indeed the Network Shared Media is a good idea but won’t work for what we need.

    Same here! Would love a plugin or other solution to be able to share media files across the multisite.

    Perhaps I’m missing something but Multisite Global Media seems to do the job, makes images globally available for posts on every site
