Hi,
That’s strange.
Image urls in the unit output are somehow generated for SSL while the site is loaded with http://
. Most likely the plugin thinks your site is loaded as SSL. If you modify the $_SERVER['HTTPS']
value, it may cause such a problem.
Can you try creating a new test unit and see if the same problem occurs?
Also, you may try clearing caches via Dashboard -> Amazon Auto Links -> Settings -> Cache -> Clear All Caches.
Hi, I tried clearing cache but nothing change. I tried to create a new unit and I got this message when try to select one amazon category:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method AmazonAutoLinks_HTTPClient_FileGetContents::getResponse() in /home/cotabhost/public_html/wp-content/plugins/amazon-auto-links/include/class/_common/utility/interpreter/http/AmazonAutoLinks_HTTPClient_FileGetContents.php on line 38
Do you have any idea of what can be? Thank you
Plus, this is even more weird…look here: http://www.confrontotablet.it/amazon_auto_links/cotab-side/
If you see the unit in preview mode (in the body of the article) you can see it correctly, but in the sidebar it doesn’t display correctly (the unit you see in the link above is the same, in the body and in the sidebar)…
Looks like the plugin called Jetpack and its component Photon are something to do with it. Can you disable Photon temporarily and see if the problem goes away?
As for the fatal error, it would occur when your server fails to access the Amazon server. Probably it is a different issue from the issue of loading images.
So let’s see if disabling Photon makes images being loaded properly.
Unfortunately nothing change. I deactivated Photon and cleared all the caches but still cannot see the pictures in Amazon auto link units. I also deactivated completely the plugin Jetpack, but nothing changes.
Now, if you go here, http://www.confrontotablet.it/amazon_auto_links/cotab-side/, not even the unit in the article body shows images (before with Jetpack and Photon activated, we were able to see the pictures in the unit in the article body).
What this can be?
I suspect you have a plugin that converts image urls. All the image urls generated by the plugin start from http://
or https://
but the image urls of your site somehow misses it.
I suggest you temporarily deactivate all the plugins and switch to the default theme. Then see if the same problem occurs. If it does not, switch back to the current theme and see if the problem persists. If not, activate the plugins one by one. At some point, the problem should start occurring.
Then you can tell me which one causes it.
Hi, I confirm the problem is with Jetpack and Photon.
I have pretty much the same set of plugins on all my websites, so I tested your suggestions here on my website cellulariricondizionati.it.
I deactivated all plugins (except Amazon Auto Links) and switched to the default template. Amazon Auto Links was working correctly, so I reactivate the other plugins one by one and I left Jetpack deactivated. Now Amazon Auto Links is working fine but I have to keep Jetpack deactivated.
So the conflict is with the last version of Jetpack (everything was working fine on my website since the last Jetpack update).
Thank you for you support, I will try to contact Jetpack support to figure out what to do next.
Bye
