commenters apprised by email …

Hi,

Someone just told me, when she posts a comment on a blog at my website, there’s no option to check off to receive an email when someone responds to her comment.

Do you know a way I can set that up? Settings for discussions do not provide such an option, or at least i do not see it there. I don’t want to add a plug-in, long story short.
