So I’m pretty new to WP and I’d really love to learn how to adjust the description of my site that shows up in google search. I think it’s called a Block Header? idk. My current one is way out of date.

Also, a more minor problem is that my very lame tagline isn’t changing to the one that I’ve changed it to when I search for my site in google search. I’d thought it might take a while to change up, but it seems to

This is my Blog or site or whatever it’s called. https://nugss.unbc.ca

    Thanks in advance<

  • Hi,
As I see your site doesn’t have the “description” meta tag which is often used by search engines for the description of your site in the search results.
To add it, you can use an SEO plugin, the most popular ones being Yoast SEO and All In One SEO Pack.
These plugins provide tons of other SEO features besides the meta description, if you only need a custom meta description, you can choose a simpler plugin.
    Hope that helps.

If you have updated your tagline but this isn’t reflected in your Google search it might be that the Googlebot hasn’t indexed the change yet — this needs to happen before the changes appear in Google searches.
