• I would like to take complete backup of my client’s websites to external hard drive. But I do not want to do this manually. I would like to schedule all this backup before hand and that will directly store on my external hard drive around mid night (or whatever time I set for backup).

I know that plugins can schedule back up and then we can download it manually from it but I would like to automatically store back up on my external hard drive.

Thanks for the help in advance.

  • I use BackUpWordPress with the paid Dropbox add-on. Various other services such as Google Drive are available as add-ons as well.

Dropbox, Google Drive and similar sync to your machine. So you could install that service’s app on your external drive, and when your backup runs a copy will be sent to the storage service of your choice which will then download a copy of the backup to your drive.
