Support » Fixing WordPress » How-to: Two feeds, one full and one excerpts only?

  • Hi all.
I wish to add a new feed to my existing blog feed.
The new feed will have excerpts only (defined by the more tag), where as the other (old) feed, will keep having full feeds.

The reason I want it, is so to keep giving my readers full feeds, but to be able to submit partial feeds for some aggregation sites.

    Any thoughts ?

    Tal

  • I’m hoping someone can answer the above person’s question because I’m wondering the same thing. In my case, I want the regular summary feed for Web users, but a Full Text feed just for the Amazon Kindle. Any idea how to do that?

    Hey Tal,

I’m Nichelle (my blog happens to be listed at dancebloggers – thanks for your work there!)

Anyway, I am actually looking for something similar.

I did find a plugin called Dual Feed, however, I read that it interferes with Better Feed which is another plugin I’ve been using. Just curious if you had found a solution. Thanks!

Does anyone know how to create both full and partial RSS feeds? In WP it is a binary choice but what if you want to offer both?

Is there a way to finagle your way around it? say with yahoo pipes? or feedity? or some other way? I’ve looked at the options but since I’m not really technically oriented I haven’t found a way.

Unfortunately googling for it is useless since the results are overpowered by the inane debate between the two options.

If anyone knows how to offer both options, please, please share. Thank you.
