Integration with other plugins with location data

    Hello!

    Has there been any successful integration with another plugin which uses location data?

    For example, there’s various popular event management and calendar plugins all of which do good things, but their mapping features are really basic.

    It seems silly to input location data over and over again into different plugins. Maybe all of these plugins should support a generic Location post type? I feel like this conversation must have happened 100’s of times over the years, in the WP world.

    Hi,

    we are not aware of any integrations of our plugins with other event management or calendar plugins yet.

    Better integration with other plugins is on our roadmap, although with a lower priority & our general approach here is to offer lots of APIs which can be used to build such integrations. See https://mapsmarker.com/mapsmarker-api for more details.

    For a future release we also plan to add native GeoJSON and KML support, which will make it easier to display location data from other plugins without having to import them in Maps Marker Pro (while as on the other hand, this is not always needed – eg. you could use the shortcode API to create markers directly with shortcodes without having to save them to the plugins database tables first, e.g. by adding [mapsmarker lat=”22.22″ long=”11.22″] – just be aware that this feature is available in the pro version only)
