• I hired a freelancer to do comprehensive site updates and wanted to get a staging site set up immediately, rather than creating a db, copying my files, etc.

    From searching for this plugin, to reading the reviews, to installing it, to stalling out, to customizing my settings, to running the full cloning, to sending the credentials to my developer…we were up and running in exactly 45 minutes.

    When I first ran it, I got an error message that “Allowed memory size…was exhausted.” Here’s what I did to customize, if it helps anyone:

    – Updated wp-config.php to increase memory allocaton: define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’ );
    – In the plugin settings: disabled plugins during cloning, unchecked other directories in my folder that weren’t part of the staging server (like my backup folder)
    – After install, in WP Settings/Reading, manually checked the box to “discourage search engines from indexing”

    GREAT plugin, merci, Rene!
