Multisite Cloner slows down WPMU DEV Batch Create to a crawl
-
I thought Multisite Cloner and WPMU DEV Batch Create would be a perfect match, since Multisite Cloner takes care of copying settings, users, content and more to each of the new sites that Batch Create creates.
At first it worked well, but after 30 sites or so, the speed slowed down so much that Batch Create exceeds the maximum execution time of 180 seconds and can’t even finish creating one single site. (The error log says
PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 180 seconds exceeded in /path/to/wp-includes/meta.php on line 829
).If I de-activate Multisite Cloner then Batch Create works at full speed again, and it only takes a second or so to create a site. So there seems to be something in Multisite Cloner’s process that stalls it (but only after successfully working just fine for the first 20 or 30 sites).
Anyone else ran into this problem?
