    Hi,

Every since the version where ajax has been integrated to manage all settings, the access manager reacts really slow. For example when I try to change visibility of Pages/Comments/Plugins/etc menu items for a certain role, it takes about 7 to 10 seconds to save this one setting. So for just turning off some menu items for one role (say 4 items), I’m clicking and waiting for a minute. I’d rather have a bulk setting option and a save button instead.

Is this just me? I’m experiencing this on all installs, with or without the Dev License (caching) installed.

  • Hi Studiobovenkamer,

It is really hard to tell what can be the cause of the problem. Overall AAM does not take a lot of resources as long as there are reasonable amount of posts, pages and custom post types (under reasonable I mean no more than few hundreds). Otherwise it all depends on how your website is setup (if during each request to your website it pulls and does some manipulations with your posts, then it’ll be slow because each time AAM verifies that your current user has access to those posts).

The best way to find out is to profile your website and find out what function causes the delay.

You can send us the complete dump (database and files) of one of your websites that experiences slow response and we’ll check it on our local installation.

    Thank you,
    Vasyl
