Hello,
I’m not sure what you mean. Weglot Translate is actually free if your website has less than 2000 words. What is your website ?
Best
I 100% agree with cerkoxxl. You gave free solution what actually is almost unusable. Maybe someone who have a site with literally contact form and 1-2 pages with short text could use free version otherwise it will not be enough.
Just to give visual presentation on what means 2.000 words, i got this link randomly searching google for “short stories”: https://americanliterature.com/author/hh-munro-saki/short-story/the-dreamer.
It contains almost 1.500 words, now see how many pages (forget about any post) you can fit inside free version. This is not first plugin i saw doing this, offering free almost unusable version of the plugin and using WP website purely to promote their paid product. I hope one day WP will start banning the authors doing this and removing their plugins.
If you want “real deal” you will have to spend at least 150EUR (165USD)/year for just one site. There are much better solutions for less money.
Hello,
To give you an insight, 90% are using the free plan and only 10% are paying.
So no, the free version is not “unusable”I agree with you 2000 words is not a lot if you write content, so indeed, for bloggers, you will be over 2000 words.
But a lot of WP website are actually not blogs, they are landing page for apps, or small website for a hotel, a restaurant with 5-6 pages and few content. All these websites are using Weglot for free and we are helping them with free support also. Why do we offer 2000 and not more ?
The answer is simple : automatic translations are not free, we have to pay them for every words. It means that for every free users, we are losing money.I hope this help you understand our position. Keep in mind that we could also not have a free plan.
Finally, you can find other solutions, they are a lot of free solutions or less expensive. But we are the only plugin offering automatic translations + SEO support.
Don’t hesitate if you have more questions.
@remy B: Thank you for your reply and explanation. Soon i will need a plugin similar to your and if i will use i will post my review/rating.
