Support » Plugin: WordPress Gallery Plugin - NextGEN Gallery » Transferring ngg tables to new site overwrites existing content

I’m trying to transfer my client’s existing nextgen galleries over to a new site we’ve made for them. I tried exporting and then importing the ngg_album, ngg_gallery and ngg_pictures tables. However, this is overwriting and erasing existing content on the site, especially pages. Content is being replaced by empty entries titled “Untitled ngg_gallery”.

Is there a way to transfer these tables between sites without causing this conflict?

I am using the most recent version of ngg.

@patrickcameron – At best I would suggest a migration service/plugin then use the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options if there appear to be any issues afterward.

Moving individual tables between sites can be problematic especially since NextGEN Gallery references specific posts in its data as related to the inserted display.

    Thanks!
