    Hi @dianepatterson,

This is the first report we’ve had of a valid Amazon Affiliate ID that doesn’t end in a number. The documentation on Amazon’s website seems to imply that the characters after the dash in the Affiliate will only ever be numbers, but maybe that is not true of very old IDs. We will relax the restrictions on the affiliate ID validator in the next update to allow for letters after the dash.

We added the affiliate ID validator to help people detect when they’d mistyped their affiliate ID, which would otherwise result in them simply silently not receiving their affiliate credit. But if it is preventing people from using their valid Affiliate IDs that is clearly unacceptable and will be changed as soon as possible.

Just so you know: Yes, in the VERY early days of Amazon Affiliates, the affiliate IDs were just names. The -20 addition came later.

I use one of the old affiliate IDs, as well. It has no dash in it, and no number, either. So, being able to use this in MyBookTable is vital.

I’m a new MyBookTable user, so I haven’t tried using my Amazon Affiliate ID in it, yet. But, I did want to confirm that dianepatterson’s information is correct.

Just to clarify, this is no longer an issue in recent versions of MyBookTable.
