i have made no claim that i am the original aurther. Anywhere this plugin is posted it states who the original author is. This is much more than the WP-Forum plugin. I have fixed many errors that existed for months on Wp-Forums. I added a new theme. Added 2.7/2.8 menus fr a much more up to date look. Change a bit of the code around. This is NOT a plugin i just renamed the files to and called it my own i assure you. If you don’t believe this download Wp-Forums, then download my plugin and see for yourself. The owner of WP-Forums does not offer any support, and help at all for his plugin. Nor has it been updated for months. Nor was that notice there in the about me of his site until well after this plugin was released.
Just for the record, the http://www.fahlstad.se/about/ legal notice is useless. You can use the plugin for anything you wish. You can hack it, modify it, sell it for a profit, redistribute it, use it for commercial use, etc…. however, you also have to abide by the GPL that governs WP and WPMU…..which is what? That’s right my dear friends and neighbors…..freedom to do as you please….JUST so long you give others the same rights, and not try to take away from them.

infected – Not a problem 🙂 I just want to be sure that people get the message and understand the rules of the game while it’s in play.
It’s almost like WordPress user feel that they’ve found a secret goldmine and they tend to want to hoard it for themselves by being sneaky and misleading as to what people can and can’t do with WordPress……if they’d only take a look around they’d realize they were downtown standing in a public wishing well.
It’s much more fun when we all play by the same rules….

I agree. i see that today ThemeForest has even changed there WordPress licensing to accommodate GPL 🙂

He very clearly states that any type of redistribution, uploading etc. is prohibited without his consent and he isn’t in any way under the GPL if he doesn’t wish to be.
And no, his legal notice isn’t useless since he’s actually the orginal author and owns the right to do whatever he wishes with his creation and he obviously does not wish this.
WordPress also stats that once its installed and turned on that it becomes one with ordpress and must go by wordpress rules… what he says on his site dont matter, if thats the way he feels he needs to stop making things for wordpress…. anything else you want to say that you havent thought about?
