    Hi,

Whilst my IP is listed and have a setting to refer spammers to a page i.e. ‘access denied’

Whenever admin tries to login, it’s showing this page and denying admin access resulting in the plugin being deactivated in order to gain access.

Has it been setup incorrectly which may be causing this problem?

Also, is there a way I can check that it’s not blocking ‘genuine visitors/members’ to the site?

    Many Thanks

    @esmi,

    No worries, same question 😉

Why create a duplicate of the same issue – same question, same answer?

@rik0399: These forums have guidelines. Please read them. As you will see, one of these guidelines – entitled Where to Post – specifically states:

Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

    Please abide by this.

The plugin requires the IP address of the user. If the system is behind a firewall or proxy server then the IP address is not the user’s IP. The program will not work in this case.

If a user is using a VPN then the plugin will not work because almost all VPN addresses have already been marked bad. Spammers use VPNs to hide their identity so it is the VPN that gets marked as spam and not the spammer.

In order to find the exact reason why you are being rejected you have to go to the log. The plugin logs all spam events.
    1) Login.
    2) Activate the plugin.
    3) Use the Plugin “Cache” menu option to clear the cache.
    4) Use the plugin “log Reports” menu to clear the log.
    5) Logoff
    6) Log back in.
if the plugin blocks you, then disable the plugin, login and enable the plugin. The log report will have the reason you were rejected.

There a 20 or so reasons why you might be rejected. For every reason there is configuration option to disable it. You may have to disable an option in order to keep from being blocked in the future.

    Keith
