Sorry about that. I made the plugin check that the mbstring extension (http://php.net/manual/en/book.mbstring.php) is installed too, because it’s used at some places and can give errors if not installed.

My guess is that your PHP version is fine, but that you don’t have mbstring enabled. Any change you could enable mbstring and check if it works then?

I am having the same issue. Is there any way to revert to the old version? Has this update erased previous data, and will it repopulate for the days it has been down?

@mimi J: This is not your topic & you are asking a very different question. If you require assistance then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

I am having the same PHP issue as stated. Shall I create multiple topics for the same question? After the update a few days ago, an error message says you need at least PHP 5.3. I have 5.4.41. Same topic my friend. I’m seeking the same solution. If ou have a fix, that would be great.

@mimi J: I fixed it by enabling “mbstring” You can do the same by going to EasyApache from WHM, then edit the current configuration > enable “mbstring” and re-compile.

The just released version 2.7.2 should have a message that is more clear.

Thank guys! Wondering though, if this is the best solution…

@pär Thernström – I think you have a great plugin. However, you provided it before without requiring server-level changes for configuration. In truth, most plugins don’t. Just wondering why this is the chosen path.

If anyone else comes here wonering about the mbstring-message: the plugin has used mbstring-functions for a long time, but only at some specific places. I added the warning to make sure the plugin did not occasionally crash.

Apparently some of the users of the plugin did not have the mbstring extension enabled, so I will try to remove the requirement in the next version. Thanks for the reports everyone!

Ok, new version is out now, with no mbstring requirement. Happy history logging! 🙂
