• Hi,
Using 2.8.1 I’m trying to organize a little privacy for the blog.
I had User Access Manager plugin on 2.7 and it worked fine, but in 2.8 it interferes with the Media (library and display in posts), but that is a different subject. UAM is currently disabled.
However, I have been trying to find another plugin that will allow me to hide all or part of the blog from random visitors, but any I install, leads to an infinite loop FireFox can’t resolve. Both on site view and admin part. I have to then manually delete such a plugin from the WP-folder to regain access. Tried out 5 different plugins to make sure it is not their fault.

What can I do to fix this?

  • try deleting your wordpress .htaccess
    install plugin
    activate
    regenerate permalinks
    admin – settings – permalinks

That got rid of the loop, but then I couldn’t login anymore (not found).
Had to delete plugin-folder and re-instate the .htaccess.

Private WP has worked for me in the past.

Already tried that one. Author website says:

This plugin works in WordPress versions up to 2.5.1, but is unfortunately broken in 2.6. An updated version will be made available as soon as possible

    .
    And I’m on 2.8.1
