I suspect this is caused by a rogue plugin or theme like I hinted it might be in your other post. So perhaps try deactivating all other plugins and switch to one of the default themes to see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m actually in the process of redesigning my entire site so switching off my theme (which is brand new and premium) and disabling all my plugins is not possible. Any idea of where I could start if I want to do plugins one at a time? Would it likely be a javascript plugin or an image related one? or something else?

    Thanks!

I can’t really help you if you aren’t able to debug the problem.

I went through one by one and disabled various non-essential plugins. I even tried to disable and re-enable this plugin after each to try resetting things. Nothing fixed it so it must be a bug within this plugin itself.

For now I will manually add them–but hopefully there will be a way for it to work in the future!

I have an update on the issue: I attempted deleting the header image that was showing up for all posts in Categories (despite the fact those other categories had their own custom header selected). When I did that, the header images on posts then reverted to the next category in the alphabet.

To explain further, “Anxiety” is the first alphabetical category we have. The “anxiety” header image was appearing on ALL posts in all categories. When I removed the header image set for “Anxiety” then all the posts adopted the header image set for “Ask an Expert” (the next in the Categories list alphabetically.

I do not think this is an issue with my site. It must be an issue with the plugin as it seems to be working to a certain capacity, but the add-on to apply to all posts seems to be glitching and reverting to this strange Alphabetical default.

    Any tips?

It also seems others have this same issue, for example in this thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/header-for-all-posts-within-a-category/page/2?replies=51

    Sorry for not responding sooner.

You were correct. It took me quite a few reads through of your comments before I could work out exactly what you meant, but as soon as I figured it out, I was able to go double check and sure enough I could replicate the problem.

The issue was caused by a really stupid bug which involved me accessing a complete list of all taxonomy terms, not just the ones set for the individual post. I have now fixed this, and the changes can be downloaded in the latest version.
