Version 2.4.1 update breaks calendar widget

    Been running All-in-One Event Calendar without issue all the way up through 2.4.0. Installed version 2.4.1 and the calendar along with its accompanying widget both broke – no CSS formatting, just appears as a dump of linked text. Tried switching themes but it did not help. Both the plugin and the core wordpress installation are out of the box, unmodified. Ended up restoring 2.4.0 from a backup.
