    Hi

This is not an error topic, I only have a small user oriented question. Guess I got lost in all setting alternatives.

Can a cross album tag search be presented in a slide show in file name order? I have multiple collection uploads in several albums and the collection order is maintained by file name and sequence number within the file name.

No matter how I try the photos seams to be presented in upload order. Is there a setting for this?

    Regards Hans

There are two settings: Photo order on the individual album admin pages, and photo order in Table IV-C1.

For REAL albums, the photo order as defined on the individual album admin page is used, except when this is set to —default—, in that case the photo order as set in Table IV-C1 is used.

For VIRTUAL albums, like a tag search, the setting in Table IV-C1 is used.

Other topic, now i have contact with you: I did my best for you to maintain the possibility to avoid the loading of the language file, but it is no longer supported in wppa 6.4.16 because of changes in wp 4.6. If this is still vital for you, do not update to 6.4.16, or, if you did already, re-install 6.4.15

I “hate” the automatic translation, not so much because I had to re-wright my instructions, byt because things get more problematic when interpreting your answer into a Swedish translated system. But I understand this. And don’t worry about translations, we’ve solved that by translating the English instructions to Swedish.

Abourt sort…. If I e.g. names my photos

    Hans_Wahlgren_Photo_1
    Hans_Wahlgren_Photo_2
    Hans_Wahlgren_Photo_3

Then the sort doesn’t work, but if I do

    Photo_1_Hans_Wahlgren
    Photo_2_Hans_Wahlgren
    Photo_3_Hans_Wahlgren

Then I get sort by name.

Seems like the sort by name has a limited number of characters.

Another mysterious thing just happened. In Album admin photo edit the two column display went away, now it’s all in the left column and the right column is empty. What have I done?

Can you give me a link to the site and album with that order problem? And please tick the box in Table IX-A3: Allow WPPA+ Debugging.
So far i can not reproduce it, but i want to see the debug info ( i.c. the query that gets the photos ) when it goes wrong.

What browser do you use for photo admin?

    Thread Starter Hans Wahlgren

    (@hans-wahlgren)

Jacob, This will be complicated, as the routine is within a logged-in area of http://www.gatufotogruppen.se

The sort result is not from an album, but from a tag search cross several albums. The sort works if I but the photo name (sort object) early in the file name, but not when I put it in the end of the file name.

The query that gives us a tick box view to chose from is:

    [wppa type=”multitag” taglist=”Kommentera,Topp,Projekt Stadsdjur,Projekt Kungsträdgården,Projekt Händer,Projekt Fötter,Projekt Trängsel,Projekt Brunkebergstunneln,Projekt Selfie,Projekt Speglingar,Projekt Gamlastan,Projekt Gatukonst,Projekt Diptyk,Fotograf Ulf Nygren,Fotograf Sven-olof Rönnskog,Fotograf Olle Robin,Fotograf Marika Lindbom,Fotograf Merja Louka,Fotograf Mahshid Rasti,Fotograf Irina Johansson,Fotograf Hans Wahlgren,Fotograf Elizaveta Pronina,Fotograf Clas Åberg,Fotograf Mirja Koffman,Fotograf Birgitta Bratthall,201410,201411,201412,201501,201502,201503,201504,201505,201506,201507,201508,201509,201510,201511,201512,201601,201602,201603,201604,201605,201606,201607,201608,201609,201610,201611,201612,2016KM1,2016KM2,2016KM3,2016KM4″][/wppa]

In this special case I tick the 2016KM3 tag, but that has little to do with the problem. We have already implemented a work around by changing the file name structure so that the sort object now is placed first. So for us, you can leave this, but if there is a bug you might like to dig further.

And yes, the table IX-A3 i always ticked.

The Album admin edit thing, where I just lost the two column view is worse. I use Chrome but the view is similar in Firefox. This, from two to one column thing, just happened this morning when I was editing photos. I assume I have done something, entered a bad key or so. If this dialogue had a file attach function you would have had a screen shot. Can this screen be changed by accident?

Sorry, I made a cut & paste misstake with the query. Here it is:

    [wppa type=”multitag” taglist=”Kommentera,Topp,Projekt Stadsdjur,Projekt Kungsträdgården,Projekt Händer,Projekt Fötter,Projekt Trängsel,Projekt Brunkebergstunneln,Projekt Selfie,Projekt Speglingar,Projekt Gamlastan,Projekt Gatukonst,Projekt Diptyk,Fotograf Ulf Nygren,Fotograf Sven-olof Rönnskog,Fotograf Olle Robin,Fotograf Marika Lindbom,Fotograf Merja Louka,Fotograf Mahshid Rasti,Fotograf Irina Johansson,Fotograf Hans Wahlgren,Fotograf Elizaveta Pronina,Fotograf Clas Åberg,Fotograf Mirja Koffman,Fotograf Birgitta Bratthall,201410,201411,201412,201501,201502,201503,201504,201505,201506,201507,201508,201509,201510,201511,201512,201601,201602,201603,201604,201605,201606,201607,201608,201609,201610,201611,201612,2016KM1,2016KM2,2016KM3,2016KM4″][/wppa]

No, something is happening with the pasted query from when I paste to when I press the post button. It’s much longer, a lot more dates. Don’t know what’s happening here. Another situation where a screen shot would have been fine.

One more thing. I opened the Album Admin Edit again and now this thing was mended. Very strange, but now it is as usual again. So, I feel guilty for bothering you with topics that solve itself just by waiting and by changing file name structure.

    Have a nice evening Jacob!

If you add ‘&debug’ to the addressline in the browser, and loads the page again, you get a lot of blue debug messages, and one in red like:

[WPPA+ dbg msg: SELECT * FROM wp_wppa_photos WHERE album = 255 ORDER BY timestamp DESC]

This line i want to see. ( this one is from my dev site, with order set ad timstemp descending, and only one physical album ).

    Thread Starter Hans Wahlgren

    (@hans-wahlgren)

    Don’t understand this.

This is the adress line that I get as an answer from the search, with your additions.

    http://www.gatufotogruppen.se/?page_id=286&wppa-album=0&wppa-cover=0&wppa-occur=1&wppa-tag=2016km3,&debug

    Nothing blue or red here.

I must be on the wrong adress line.

This dialogue steals the &amp part of what I have in the adress line.

    It works, see: http://wppa.opajaap.nl/screenshots-2/wppaspec/oc1/cv0/ab39fcac6bca14/pta54c1cb8489e
    and it says:

[WPPA+ dbg msg: SELECT * FROM wp_wppa_photos WHERE ( tags LIKE '%,2016km3,%' ) AND status <> 'pending' AND status <> 'scheduled' AND status <> 'private' ORDER BY name]

This looks ok to me. If the ORDER BY name not works as expected, it is your mySql that does strange things, not wppa.

I changed something and your css was apparently not yet updated into the browser. Don’t feel guilty, just ask if there is anything wrong. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.

Thank you Jacob. Now I will leave IT and photography for a while and start the last phase of the ‘repaint my house’ – project. I usually live in a cottage, but when it’s time to repaint, the house becomes a mansion.
