Upgraded to 3.0.3 – fade setting doesn't display in IE 11

I have been using this plugin since the site came online in 2010. There is only one slider instance, which displays on every page.
Transition is set to the Fade effect with 1200 duration. The upgrade from 2.2.1.1 to 3.0.3 caused the fade effect to not work in the latest version of Explorer 11 (it slides instead of fades). However, the fade effect works OK in the latest version of Firefox. I have cleared the site cache, the browser cache, and restarted my computer, but the fade effect is not working on IE 11 on either my desktop or laptop computer.
The slide effect is not acceptable for this site, so I’ve temporarily rolled back to version 2.2.1.1.
WordPress and all plugins are up to date. The web server is running PHP 5.4.42.
