WordPress Text Editor is Very Slow When Typing

    When I am typing a post or page it takes a long time for the text to appear. I can type a complete sentence before the text starts to appear. Any reason why this is happening?

    Same thing goes for anything else in the text editor. Everything just moves very very slowly.

    Please let me know if there is a fix for this.

    Have the most recent version of wordpress and it’s updated regularly via WPengine hosting.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Turning off the automated spell checker in your browser has helped some people with this problem.
