• I wish to remove Photon links from my site (i2.wp.com). I’ve deactivated Photon and Tiled Galleries but the links continue to show up.

I prefer to manage my own photos and have the ability to resize, compress, replace locally and use FTP.

Google’s PageSpeed Insights is flagging many images. Example: Compressing and resizing http://i0.wp.com/…16/05/Big-Bend-2015-29.jpg?zoom=3&w=1080 could save 1,008.2KiB (96% reduction).

So I just want to pull the file down, resize and compress and FTP back up.

    Howdy Orkk,

In the future, please feel free to reach out directly to the Jetpack folks via https://jetpack.com/contact-support/ or via http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack#postform

Disabling Photon and Tiled Galleries should generally remove all mentioned of it, unless your theme or another plugin is requesting Photon links.

Photon reprocesses all images so often there will be some differences between the original image and the image from Photon in terms of size and compression.

For that particular image, the 1080 indicates the width of 1080 is being requested while the “zoom” of 3 indicates a HiDPI screen (like a iPhone or Android) is requesting an image with a pixel density of 3x a normal image, so the requested image could be up to 3240 pixels wide. I’m not sure how Google PageSpeed accounts for that.
