• Non-public post types do not appear in the dropdown list, so they default to Post. When saving them from the Quick Save screen they automatically get switched to be Posts.

    How to reproduce:

    1. Register a non-public post type (‘public’ => false)
    2. Create a post of this type
    3. From the list screen, quick edit it, change nothing, simply press save.

    Two ways to solve this: Either display non-public post types (if possible) or simply have an empty option in the dropdown as the default option.

  • Agree with Vassilis on this one, I was just about to post the same.

    Quick editing a non-public post (changing just the title, for example) turns the post type to “Post”. There is no way to retain the original post type, because it is not listed in the dropdown as an option.
