Need to add online booking with calendar

Hi guys! I am fairly new to WordPress so I hope this is in the right section. I want to build a website for a friend who has a couple of holiday cottages. She wants an availability calendar and for customers to be able to book online and pay online too. As the prices vary throughout the year customers need to select a time frame, see the price, fill out a form and then pay. I thought it would fairly simple using woocommerce maybe but its turned really difficult. Can anyone advise me on the best way to do this please?
