how to Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript without moving it to the footer?

Is there any way to eliminate render-blocking JavaScript without moving it completely to the footer? In a similar way as with CSS as described in that thread?

One way to do it is using “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize”, but I just wonder if such a tool as CSS critical path generator exists for JS?
