    I had the same problem – and this morning I figured out that the delay was coming from wordpress sending out emails to confirm the order. I got a plugin called “SMTP mailing queue” which immediately removed the delay. Now, the checkout happens pretty quickly. There are probably other programs that can help – but yeah, the culprit is in wordpress’s emailing system.
