Comments on media items

When we upload photos to the media library, by default they all have the ‘allow comments’ field ticked. I can’t see how to either change that default, or globally change all the media items so allowing comments on the photos is switched off.

I can obviously get round by editing each image (200+), but just wondered if there was a way to set the default setting to ‘disallow comments’ for the media items.
