    Hello,
First of all, thanks a lot for this great plugin. We badly need to have an option to just compress the uncompressed images instead of using “compress all images” option. Because, “compress all images” option starts optimizing from the last image to the previous images that are both optimized and unoptimized.

    Regards…

    Hi,

The “Compress all images” function only compresses images that have not been compressed before. It ignores images that have been compressed before based on metadata that is saved in the database by our plugin.

Hope to have answered your question!

I think you misunderstood my question. I know it only compresses images that have not been compressed before. But the problem is that it also checks the previously compressed images. This is time consuming. Let’s say there are 5000 images in total and only 200 of them are uncompressed. When I use the “compress all images” option, it will check all of the 5000 images and will compress those 200 uncompressed images after checking all images in the media directory. So, it haf better just check the 200 uncompressed images and compress them.

    Hi,

Could you please let us know which version of the plugin you are using?

    Hi,

You’re absolutely right that the plugin needlessly makes separate requests for images that already have been compressed. We actually have put this on our feature list. However, at this point I cannot give you any date as when that will be available.

In any case, thanks for reporting this

Hi, I’m not sure if this is the same problem or if it’s related… I compressed the images (25 of them) on our site, then I added a new one and then hit compress all images to compress the newest one. This time rather than compress each image (in our case 9 compressions per image) it compressed all of the previously compressed images again (2 additional compressions each). Is this normal? Thanks!

Ive also noticed, this is also adding to the extra of to many connections to the database. Assisting in the (Cannot connect to the Database) which makes the site go down.

Also the auto feature doesnt work. Why should we admins always have to manually do bulk jobs when plugin offers auto jobs ?

    Hi,

I’m not sure this is related to this topic.

However, when using the Compress all images page, it will compress all images and sizes that are enabled in your settings and not yet compressed. If you enabled additional image sizes to be compressed after you did the initial compressions, running Compress all images again will compress the newly enabled sizes for existing images as well.

If this doesn’t apply, please let us know via support@tinypng.com

THE AUTO FEATURE in my last post, it doesnt work, why do we admins always have to login ad manually activate the job ?
