Thanks for your question and for posting links to your screenshots; very helpful.

The Att. Tags interface works just like WordPress Tags and other “flat” taxonomies. Unlike the checklist box used for “hierarchical” taxonomies (e.g., Att. Categories), flat taxonomies show a simple text box. If you put the cursor in the text box and start typing, an “auto complete” list will pop up with suggested matches. For example, if you type “oel” you will see a list with “Oelbilder” and “Oelbildfotografien”. When you click the “Add” button the tags are assigned to the item.

If you would prefer a checklist-style interface:

    1. Go to the Settings/Media Library Assistant General tab.
    2. Scroll down to the Taxonomy Support section.
    3. Check the box in the “Checklist” column for Att. Tags and any other flat taxonomies.
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click “Save Changes” to record your new settings.

Once that is done you should see the checklist box for the taxonomies you selected.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the above suggestions. Thank you for your interest in the plugin.
