That’s not good. I’ll work on fixing whatever is causing this bug ASAP, but in the meantime you should be able to access your site via FTP or your web host’s file manager. Delete the folder wp-content/plugins/video-embed-thumbnail-generator and that will deactivate the plugin. You can replace it with the old version if you want https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/video-embed-thumbnail-generator.4.5.5.zip

Is that the full error? Instead of telling you what it’s expecting it just has …. ?

Thanks for your help Kyle! It says

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ‘)’ in /home/sarahjane/webapps/wp/wp-content/plugins/video-embed-thumbnail-generator/video-embed-thumbnail-generator.php on line 1639

I think you have an older version of PHP running on your server. Anonymous functions were introduced in PHP version 5.3 and WordPress recommends 5.6. I’m going to fix this anyway because it’s not necessary for me to use anonymous functions. Unfortunately you’ll still have to manually deactivate the plugin.

Soooo I’ve never accessed my site via FTP. And I need to log-in to wordpress in order to register with site manager, huh? I can’t login to wordpress. YIKES!

FTP is very simple. Now is a great time to learn. If you don’t want to do that, you should not need to log in to WordPress to access your web host’s file manager. You should have access to some sort of control panel or something that is unrelated to WordPress. I don’t know the specifics because web hosts are configured in many different ways, but if you need help you should be able to ask your host for support, or find information on their website.
