• I’m not 100% sure what version I’m running, its pretty close if not current, but anyway, I’m trying to figure out what is going on with my site, I’ve had blank pages (white pages and no apparent error) every once in a blue moon that can last from 30 minutes to a couple hours, my host is Hostinger which I do NOT recommend at all, as soon as I can get away from them I will, I make backups regularly incase they try to pull the rug out from underneath me like I’ve heard other people say.

I’m in the U.S. and because of the time difference they never get back to me until hours later when the problem resolved itself, then they claim “your site appears to be operating normally now” and “we can not replicate the problem” or something like that, you know they have logs of stuff and something is going on but they play dumb.

I also get plain white pages that say “Access Denied” every once in a while, I cannot tell if its a wordpress error or a server or browser error. That happens every onces in a while.

The stupid thing about hostinger is they give you 2GB space and 100GB bandwidth, I recently got a limit exceeded message when going to my site the other day, it then redirected from my site to the hostinger site, I contacted them and they claimed you have a 200 visitor limit (maybe daily, IDK), so I’m thinking, so why do you give us 100GB of bandwidth if we will never get to use it?.. Shady..

I figure some will say, well what do you expect, its free hosting and your right, but they sell hosting too and if they are that shady with the free, I sure wouldn’t buy anything from them..

But my question is, is the blank pages with “access denied” a wordpress error?

  • That is not a standard WordPress error. As you’re host has thoe limits in place that you’ve mentioned (and that’s what happens with free hosting) it’s most likely from them after you’ve hit the 200 per day/whichever limit.

Actually that Access Denied cleared up about 5-10 minutes after I posted the first message, it never redirected to the hostinger site and never gave me a limit exceeded, these are two different things, but I still think its shenanigans on their part, they make free hosting so crappy to try and get them to move it to the paid servers so they can make off you.

We shy away from dealing with hosting issues in these forums, because such threads attract spam and cause arguments. That said, free hosting is almost always problematic for any number of reasons.

The WordPress team has provided a list of recommended hosting providers. For more details and other recommendations, please search through the forums or via Google (or your preferred search engine).
